Tigris Resources Newsletter December 2013

Tigris Resources Newsletter December 2013

The onset of winter and the first snow fall in South-East Turkey mean the suspension of intense field activities and the end of the Company’s 2013 regional reconnaissance programme.

This year the team has reviewed 100 target areas, collected 470 regional rock chip samples covering 11400ha and identified three high potential areas for acquisition in upcoming license tenders.

Two of these areas occur in a newly identified highly prospective copper and gold metallogenic corridor which extends over a length of 130km and includes the Kolonkaya license area. This new district will be a region of strategic focus for the upcoming field season.

The season finished in Kolonkaya with mapping and sampling of mineralised shear zones to help further our geological understanding of the Kolonkaya Intrusion Related Copper and Gold System. Planning is currently underway for a 1500m RC drill programme at Kolonkaya to begin summer 2014. Holes have been sited to test the geophysical anomalies that were outlined during the ground IP/EM geophysics programme in early 2013. Permits will be sought over the winter period, with road and drill pad construction to commence once the snow has cleared.

At Bingol an extensive ionic leach soil sampling programme covering an area of roughly 24km2 is now complete with over 890 samples taken. The ionic leach process can be used to detect subtle and in this case, buried copper gold mineralisation. Final assay results are expected in late December.

Tigris is also busy assessing various third party held copper and gold joint venture and acquisition opportunities throughout Turkey.

Management Changes

Dr Tim Coughlin will assume the role of Managing Director of the Company with effect from 1st February 2014 and will oversee the forthcoming exploration programme. Hugh Devlin, who has been standing in as MD will re-assume the Operations Director role from that date on.

“I am excited about my new role with Tigris and about the prospects over the coming year” said Dr Coughlin, “Thanks to all the great work to-date we have the Kolonkaya region to focus on (where new ideas have identified the possibility for a large concealed copper-gold deposit), a new, 130km long discrete and prospective mineralised corridor to explore, the Bingol porphyry deposit to drill test and three new prospective areas to acquire in the upcoming tender process. I am privileged to have been offered this position and I am anxious to commence work in February next year.”

Tigris would like to thank you for all your support throughout 2013 and wish you every happiness this holiday season and throughout the coming year.
